I’m flying to PNG with another missionary (Edna Trigg) on May 25th and returning on July 25th. We will be working on Sinasina teaching materials with Mol and the leaders there. I’ll also be helping out with any field literacy needs if I’m needed, and if I have the time. I’m sure that we will have more then enough to do the two months that we will be there. Then on Sept.9th I’m flying to Mozambique, South Africa where I’ll be working with missionaries there helping them with their all important literacy projects.

Once home, I helped out with “fleshing out” our new website at goodseed.com. While this site is not yet live, it was encouraging to work with Jim on it for a week, a project that has the great potential to reach, and be an encouragement to many people. My job was to fill out the Bible 101 course (the complete VideoBook), as well as PDF’s of as many books as we have in that format. This weekend, I am in Calgary doing a video shoot as John Cross is speaking at a Pastor’s conference, 4 sessions. I have been asked to oversee the video acquisition and then edit these sessions. Also, I just started the process to start the Interactive edition of The Stranger in Portuguese. This will be a rather large project, but most of the work load is on the people in Brazil. They will need to translate text to match the DVD, then record audio and edit clips to match the English Version in length. Once done, I can take that and put it together on the DVD. It will be a while in production, but with the Lord’s help, we will be able to get in finished in a timely manner.

Wes & Penny Chappell: The survey went great! We (Paul-- a believer from the Yagwoia tribe where Robert Westerveld works, Robert Westerveld, Steve Arns and Wes) were able to hike around to all of the dialects in the Menya language. We landed in Menyamya on Tuesday the 8th. Menyamya is the central village in the Menya people group. There is a big airstrip, stores, market, high school and small hospital directly in Menyamya. Right away, we found a local guy who said he could hike with us and show us around the whole Menya people group. We headed off and spent the next 6 days hiking from village to village gathering language and people group information. Robert has just finished translating the New Testament in Paul’s language, and it will be printed this year. Paul wanted to come along with us, he was a great help. We hiked over 125 km. altogether! Please be praying for us as we have many decisions before us. We have to talk with leadership about the information we gathered and make a plan from there. Please be praying for the Menya people group also. We want to go where God wants us to go! Thanks for praying, it was an amazing time to be able to see so many places and people. Pray that God will be leading us with the information we gathered.
